London Welsh is extremely sad to have to report the passing of Kelvin Bryon

3 Sept 2024

One of London Welsh Rugby Clubs greatest benefactors and supporters Kelvin Bryon passed away at his home yesterday.

It is with great Sadness that I have to inform you that Kelvin Bryon died yesterday at home of heart failure. Kelvin had been unwell for some time but had continued, even through ill health, to keep abreast of what was going on at his beloved London Welsh and to offer us support in both advisory support as well as practically.

Over the years Kelvin has played a huge part in the history of London Welsh, not as a player but as a member who, through his determination and also at huge personal financial cost, powered the London Welsh climb back through the divisions culminating in London Welsh reaching the pinnacle of Premiership Rugby.

Whilst this was to turn out to be a step too far and a dream that would be ultimately one that could not be sustained, it would not have been possible to even have had that throw of the dice and a shot at the top flight without the continued support of Kelvin and his vision and passion.

Since project reset, Kelvin continued to be involved, although much more behind the scenes, in ensuring that London Welsh was always equipped with what it needed to continue.

We pass on our sincerest condolences to all of Kelvins family and friends at this saddest of times.

Kelvin will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Pat.
